Hi to all:
Have just spoken with Bernard -- he reported to me that AMDA's Laughlin 2009 is a go for the weekend of October 23,24, and 25, 2009! We are pleased and hope you are too! I'll have a newsletter out as soon as I receive the hunt flyer, which should be in a few days.
Thank you for your interest and patience. See you in Laughlin!
Welcome to the American Metal Detecting
Association Online. This website is our newest tool to keep detectorists
and small-scale miners up to date on issues that may affect you as
a hobbyist. The News Flash page is a
treasure trove of information of new issues and even some old ones.
You will without a doubt want to check out the Hunt
& Events page where you can get all the latest details about
upcoming AMDA events. News of other organizations involved in the
hobby of metal detecting will be posted from time to time, so check
out the Links page for those other organizations
that may interest you. The Photos page will
contain recent hunt winners and some of the finds found using a
metal detector. If you should need to contact a member of the AMDA
Board, go to the page titled Contact AMDA.
Your input is always welcomed so feel free to contact us.
No one enjoys the hobby of metal detecting more than those who use
their machines and realize the coin or artifact they have just uncovered
has some value or history to it. Remember detectors are used most
everywhere -- in the water, on a sandy beach, in plowed fields, or
over piles of cobblestones. Our new website is a great resource for
learning more about metal detecting whether coin or relic hunting,
the site where you can select the type of detector that will suit
your needs, a site where help can be obtained to identify a recent
find, or to share experiences with others.
Enjoy the hobby and be a responsible detectorist -- by filling in
those holes you have just dug! The hobby has its benefits to society
and our good deeds will not go unnoticed. Please do your part to help
preserve the hobby for years to come and we will do our best to keep
you informed. Thanks and visit our website often.
